Sage's 8th Birthday party!

Sage had a fabulous "sports" birthday party with her friends this year. We held the party at a local park where the girls have participated in pee wee sports. The kids rotated through 5 different stations: handball, tennis, soccer, basketball, and the snack table/"build-a-bag". My simple party became a little complicated when I decided to have each child be in a group with Sage at some point during the party.

The park is great for climbing up in the trees.

Sage doesn't care for cake much, so she had ice cream cones and chocolate cookies (that she made).

Siblings of the friends were invited, which made for a nice balance of ages. Older kids helped out and younger kids looked cute and had fun jumping.

Some of the moms and dads stayed to help and to visit.

Yes, this is the famous jumper that keep being used at family gatherings. Nathan (cousin) had this jumper at his birthday party and the company never came to pick it up (even after being reminded). Might as well keep using it.

This dad (Roland) kept the basketball court exciting

Lee and Perry ran the soccer

Sage had a "Build-a-bag" Station where each child read the instructions on a poster made by Sage. Each child was told to pick several toys and candies to put inside their bag. This was a big hit - not one child forgot to take their loot bag home.

The water balloon toss was very fun and not too wet. Perry and Lee had filled enough balloons to even have a water balloon fight at the end of the party. Has somebody invented a quick way to fill those little balloons, especially the knot part? Dominic and Perry were the winning duo, with many other kids right behind them.

Grandma Suzette ran the tennis (Sage's favorite event)

Birthdays are so fun. Sage received so many nice gifts, not a duplicate to be found! She will be shopping tomorrow to spend some of the money she received. Lucky me gets to go with! Thanks to all those that helped with the party including my very tired and sore husband from lifting and carrying car loads of stuff.

Important side note: Sage will be baptized on May 31st...you are all invited!

It looks like everyone had a great time - sorry we missed it. We plan to be there for the baptism the end of this month.
