Earth Day

On Earth day, our school recognized the day by allowing the students to wear green or brown instead of the regular school uniform. Sorry that I only have pictures of Brooke, but the others left to school before I thought about it.

The school's PTA also asked that the students create an art project from recyclable materials. All 3 girls participated, since they do this kind of stuff all the time. Their projects, along with maybe 20 other projects will be on display next Friday (maybe some small prizes). I will post pictures later. Sage told Libby that she thought Libby had the best one and that it would probably win. I love when nice comments are not prompted by me :)
Brooke's project was a telescope made out of a plastic cup and TP roll. As well as a slide for her little pencil buddy topper things.

Twin Day or is it Triplet?

Another school spirit day had people dressing alike. Sage is friends with a sweet girl that does look quite similar to her. Girl on the right has a mom that just gave a kidney to her own mother and is recuperating (also a teacher at the school), who sends home a shirt and headband for Sage to wear on this day (wow). I think the 3 looked great! (Sage is in the middle)

Facelift - Day 2

Still at the process...asking who asked for stripes? Actually, the wood paneling on the front of our house was taking on a quite a bit of moisture through the cracks. (Side note: the pretty flowers that were planted back in March - mostly dead from being stepped on :( )

This is a shot from the inside of the garage. You can see the sun light from where they tore off the back of the roof. I was so worried because rain was in the forecast. Nothing happened, thankfully.
Lots of progress

This is the two foot area being gained to the side of our garage by removing a little block wall. Anyone have a good idea for use of this space? It is 20 feet long and can be accessed from both sides.
They were going to paint the house today, but the walls were still too wet from the power wash they gave it on Friday night. Can't wait for Monday!

Facelift for the house

Our house was built in the 50's and needed a little TLC. Much of the wood fascia and siding needed to be sealed or replaced. After all the work, the paint will be freshened up :)

Here is a project that is happening to the rear of our garage. It will extend the roof out 10 feet providing a covered storage area.

My parents had a brand new window that they just replaced with a door at their house. So we had it installed into our garage where it previously was just a glass window (non-opening).

More additional photos of wood work being done.

These are close ups of the garage project.

BTW, this was all done today from 7:30 this morning until about 6 tonight when the wind started to blow. Rain is coming, Will it get into the garage through these holes? Hope not.

Night Owl Brookie

I'm laughing now, but not 5 minutes earlier. It is 10 at night and I'm checking on the girls before I close their door for the night. It is dark and I'm counting 1, 2, ...and no 3! I get a flashlight out and can't find Brooke. Her bed has transformed into a canopy of babies and animals and no sign of Brooke. Sage and Libby are sound asleep. My heart is racing now and I start to call her name in a loud whisper and she starts to giggle, that contagious giggle (the lights are still out). I can't help but laugh and just hug her and shed a tear that she is WIDE awake changing her nightgown behind the door.

I asked her why she wasn't asleep and she said she was making a place for her babies.

It gets more comical. I tell her she needs to go to bed and she kisses me goodnight. One minute later she comes back and asks if she can sleep in my bed tonight since there is no "ROOM" in hers.
My one wish is that they never grow up :( I have the best job!

Swimming in April!

Our grandparents across the street are the proud new owners of a POOL! They heated it up to 84 degrees and let us jump in for the first time yesterday when the weather was absolutely beautiful.

The pool is built up about 2 feet so little ones don't just fall in.

Brooke spent about 4 hours in the pool. She is our "Little Mermaid"

Plenty of steps for jumping off and doing tricks. Of course, no diving...it is only 5 feet at the deepest point. This pool was mostly built for water aerobics, which can even be performed in the deep spa.

Here is yet another reason to live right in this spot :)

Libby's debut

Libby has been drawing things for me to submit to the "Friend" magazine for about the past 3 years. I will admit that I have never done it :(

(click on the writing and then enlarge to see her actual paper) After writing this piece on the bus with her mom for 2 hours to Huntington Beach, I have promised to send it tomorrow. If it never makes it in, well it has been published right here!
She explained that this is a drawing of our family sitting in church on the "teal" colored pew. She drew our black church bag down to the detail of the clear pocket in the front. The bottom picture is her giving the talk from the podium in the primary room. I love how President Astle is wearing high heels (as it should be - she looks great every week) because Libby notices those things.
She has developed tremendously in her writing this year. Way to go Libby!

Sage's braces

Note: All pictures used with Sage's permission. Please click on them to enlarge :)

Sage was all smiles with nerves this morning as she waited to get her first braces on. She has other devices inside her mouth, including bands that her headgear hook into, but not the actual braces.
This does not look fun. Dr. Jorgenson was going to put 4 on, but decided against it. One tooth is not down far enough, so we wait.

She picked out magenta colored bands (can you see them?).

Her full gear for the night...

Easter

Look at the new addition to our home. With some of my birthday money, I purchased a Del Parson painting of Christ. It arrived the day before Easter! I think it is perfect.

We spent Easter with the Loveridge family. We had an egg hunt with the cousins.

My Dad was able to make it as well.

Brooke happened to lose her 1st tooth that day.

Easter

Easter time is here and the girls wanted to coordinate outfits. Justice for girls is just the right kind of place. They even "let" me paint their nails before church. Isn't that what you want to do as you are rushing off to church?

I think these little chicks are just cute as can be :)

Perry wants no part in this, but would pose for a quick photo.

Building

What to do when you are off work for a week? My sweet husband put together a storage shed in one day! I missed the photo of this huge box crammed into our crossover vehicle. That was a sight...Ford commercial material.

It fit perfectly on our existing cement pad.

Well, it fit perfectly until you wanted to open the doors. Lee removed the grass and put down some stone. What a genius!
