Teaching moments with Gavin

Brooke is 2 1/2 years older than her cousin Gavin, a perfect age difference for learning to take place. It was so cute to watch them both be into this learning session. Gavin is actually a little smarter than Brooke lets him be. She is learning to let him answer the question before she tells him the answer.

Brooke figured out that she could place the fish crackers inside the book. She now recognizes the numbers 1 - 10, so we passed this book down to Gavin.

Water Fun

This was the present Sage picked out when shopping with Grandma Suzette. I have no idea how 4 kids can fit inside, but they do. Something about water, just spells F-U-N!
Sage learned about false advertising packaging with this purchase. It looked bigger in the photos on the box :)

Let the Show begin!

Perry is often found producing an acrobatic show in our backyard. He trains the girls in necessary knowledge as to what he thinks a successful show includes. When he puts on a show, he likes it to be long enough for people to know that this is serious business. The grandparents, parents, the dog, and many dollies were invited to be the audience. We are impressed with the creativeness and endurance of all those involved. The next night, music from the show "Annie" was added per Grandma's request. Please note that some acts were not filmed, due to technical difficulties (my own). Please forgive the tree branches for being in the way and enjoy the show. The last clip is the finale.

Sage is getting Baptized

This girl is so excited to be getting baptized! You are all invited next Sunday, the 31st at 4 PM. She has planned the entire program herself. Way to go Sage!

My baby plays with worms

These are silk worms purchased by her father, taken care of by ME...hmmmm. This little girl is entertained by silk worms. She talks to them, has named them and plays with them.
They eat these Mulberry leaves all day long.

Here is the happiest bug lady ever! She collects all kinds of bugs and sometimes loves them too much. So far the silk worms have survived.

Brooke's school

These pictures were scanned, so I hope they come out some what visible. Brooke has been attending pre-school with Mrs. Tami and Mrs. Aubrey. A nice photographer came and took nice photos right in her front yard. We have learned a lot this year! Brooke along with 4 others are headed to Kindergarten in the fall.

Sage lost a tooth

I believe this is Sage's 7th lost tooth. She pulled it out herself! Her cousin, Bailey lost the same tooth yesterday as well. The stars must be all lined up or something...

Sunflowers

Awhile back, I wrote about Mom's Muffin Day at the elementary school. http://theloveridgelegacy.blogspot.com/search?q=muffin

The Sunflower seeds that Sage and I planted were transplanted into our front yard. The first one bloomed and the second is almost ready. They look so fragile, but hardy enough to last our poor soil. Amazing!

We can't all be photogenic :(

Sage's birthday shopping trip: 1

Sage wanted to go shopping at Target with Grandma to pick out her birthday present. Her cousin, Bailey has her 9th birthday tomorrow, so why not shop together?

What would a shopping trip be like without a treat? Thanks Grandma for the present and the treat:)

Here's the real Brooke

Many of you see a very reserved Brooke that may not even smile or talk to you. I guess she is shy in public, what else should I call it? Here are a few glimpses of the "real" Brooke. I'm not sure she would ever perform like this outside the comforts of her own home, but maybe someday. I like how Brooke takes basically the same thing to shout about (her name), but changes the tune.

Sage's 8th Birthday party!

Sage had a fabulous "sports" birthday party with her friends this year. We held the party at a local park where the girls have participated in pee wee sports. The kids rotated through 5 different stations: handball, tennis, soccer, basketball, and the snack table/"build-a-bag". My simple party became a little complicated when I decided to have each child be in a group with Sage at some point during the party.

The park is great for climbing up in the trees.

Sage doesn't care for cake much, so she had ice cream cones and chocolate cookies (that she made).

Siblings of the friends were invited, which made for a nice balance of ages. Older kids helped out and younger kids looked cute and had fun jumping.

Some of the moms and dads stayed to help and to visit.

Yes, this is the famous jumper that keep being used at family gatherings. Nathan (cousin) had this jumper at his birthday party and the company never came to pick it up (even after being reminded). Might as well keep using it.

This dad (Roland) kept the basketball court exciting

Lee and Perry ran the soccer

Sage had a "Build-a-bag" Station where each child read the instructions on a poster made by Sage. Each child was told to pick several toys and candies to put inside their bag. This was a big hit - not one child forgot to take their loot bag home.

The water balloon toss was very fun and not too wet. Perry and Lee had filled enough balloons to even have a water balloon fight at the end of the party. Has somebody invented a quick way to fill those little balloons, especially the knot part? Dominic and Perry were the winning duo, with many other kids right behind them.

Grandma Suzette ran the tennis (Sage's favorite event)

Birthdays are so fun. Sage received so many nice gifts, not a duplicate to be found! She will be shopping tomorrow to spend some of the money she received. Lucky me gets to go with! Thanks to all those that helped with the party including my very tired and sore husband from lifting and carrying car loads of stuff.

Important side note: Sage will be baptized on May 31st...you are all invited!

Libby lost a tooth

Can't remember when Libby lost a tooth, she thinks it was 1st grade. This is her 3rd tooth, 1st upper tooth. She has been wiggling and wiggling since last night and she finally pulled it out during school. Libby really wanted a tooth necklace!
