Gingerbread House

The Finished Product!

Help me out here. This is my first gingerbread house. I let the kids decorate a side and part of the roof. Check out their pictures to see what they did with their real estate. I've heard that you eat the house...when? After Christmas? It was the perfect night to do this activity, it was actually cold. We had the fire place on and the girls were all bundled up with blankets.

IMO NEVER eat the gingerbread house - especially after it has been sitting on the counter for more than two days! Ewwww! The gingerbread that is good for making houses is not yummy anyway -that's the gingerbread from cookies. The stuff for houses has to be much stronger in order to stand up for days and weeks. They sure turned out cute! You've got some exterior designers at your hosue.

You are such a fun mom!! I totally agree with your friend~ NEVER eat the house..well, you can let your kids ;) but they don't taste very good... sometimes you can just pick the candy off and eat that...lol

ps for your moms Christmas party I'm asking everyone(just 1 for you and Lee and fam) to bring a white elephant gift(approx $20) for a xmas game..just because we've all stoped giving gifts to each other, but I think it would still be fun to have a gift giving game where everyone got together and had some fun with it...good idea or no?
